Tra i brani più divisivi della carriera di Rihanna, che proprio in questi giorni ha annunciato di volersi prendere una pausa dalla musica, c’è sicuramente Stay, secondo singolo estratto dall’album del 2013 Unapologetic: se alcuni critici, infatti, non hanno esitato a definirlo come il migliore dell’intero album, altri l’hanno invece bollato come noioso.

Il brano, prodotto da Elof Loelv, Justin Parker e Miky Ekko, che partecipa anche vocalmente, è una ballad romantica (resa ancora più incisiva dalla presenza del pianoforte e della chitarra) sui tentativi spesso frustranti che si fanno per tenere in piedi una relazione.
